Thank you Alona for sharing these stories.

When I read Gisèle Pelicot's testimony, I just don't know what to make of the world.

"I was sacrificed on the altar of vice. It's a dead woman on a bed. This isn't a bedroom, it's an operating theatre. They treat me like a garbage bag, a rag doll. These aren't sex scenes, these are rape scenes, it's unbearable, unbearable."

How is it that in the year 2024 a man found liable liable for sexually abusing and defaming E. Jean Carroll, besides multiple other crimes including leading an insurrection against the US government, is RE-elected president of the United States?

How is it that women are defamed, raped and abused, denigrated, insulted, assaulted in a world in which we have supposedly made so much "progress"?

I can't get over the fact that not one man went to the authorities, even guys who had shown up and decided not to go through with it. It's utterly unbelievable

Because they knew even before they arrived that what they were doing was a crime.

Dominique Pelicot found the men via a messaging board called “Without their knowledge” on the now-shuttered website Coco, which was known for postings that involved illegal activities.

On the site, Dominique Pelicot solicited men to assault his wife, giving them specific instructions, including not wearing perfume or smoking, to avoid detection.

Yes! Absolutely, but I don’t know, I guess you’d hope that the reality of something like that would make most people run for the door and call the police. But no

Yes, but I guess I would like to think that even then, a sense of decency would kick in, that someone would want to stop this horror, but no

Sometimes I feel like I don't understand anything anymore.

Someone with a sense of decency wouldn't have shown up in the first place, because they knew exactly why they were there.
