Interesting reference by that retired colonel to "human rights-compliant and cheaper pocket gendarmerie that will never again be capable of fighting necessary overseas wars" which raises the question: why are these "necessary" wars always "overseas" and never at home in the British Isles?

Not that I want war in the British Isles, or anywhere, but why is it that those "overseas" people always have to suffer from "our" wars?
